Good idea though, and people could do this on a Hackintosh or an old used Mac mini if they don't already have a Mac. It might be difficult to get received messages from Messages app to the helper Mac app to the Android phone, but OS X is far more open than iOS so there's probably a workaround. Also, for people to trust this method, both the Android app and the helper Mac app would need to be 100% open source and run entirely on the user's own hardware. So it's certainly possible, but I've not heard of any such effort. Someone could probably write an Android app with a more appropriate phone UI that talks to a helper app on the Mac (which the developer would also have to write) that then controls Messages.app (via AppleScript and Universal Access commands): giving it the message and recipient, and then telling Messages.app to send it. Also, your Mac would obviously need to be on (not asleep) and connected to the Internet. A Galaxy Note might have a better shot at it due to the stylus.
